thanks guys!! now to get him on shrimp, previous owner made a gelatin mixture with bloodworms and brine shrimp etc, but not really an option to feed to my 600 gallon with the rest of the tankmates, so he hanging out in my 180 for now till i can get him on shrimp, fillet or smelt , one day would be awesome have him on pellets but that prolly wont happen lol

Since you have him separated, try to soak some pellet food in with bloodworms should increase the response towards other items. Not sure with fire eels but it helped with my wild Mastacembelus ellipsifer eel.
