i use 2 x 250w and 1 x 150w heater in all of my 220g i like to have multiple lower watt heater. instead of a big one . if a heater breaks the temperature drop is not as drastic as if 1 500w heater broke. and its cheaper to replace

heater are the piece of equipment that seems to break the most.

As far as gph for powerhead i guess it depends on where it will be placed. i run 1 630gph at the bottom of my barebottom 220g
