Been a while....hang on the back filter

I am setting up my Geryi piranha tank. Tank will be a 46 bowfront in my office. Been a while since I used a hang on the back filter however out of straight ease of use I was thinking of going with 2 emporer 400s. Are these still decent? Was going to go with acs but I hate the sponge thing and for the amount of bio that will be in that that tank I am more inclined to use a cartridge type filter. Thoughts?

I have always relyed on Aquaclears my self do to there ability to sustain bio loads. Replaceable cartridges through out the bio load, don't they? I believe thats why most disposable cartridge filters have added bio wheels? which i have no sucess with my self.

+1^.I have only had good results with Aquaclear myself for hang on the back. My Black diamond piranha and Manny tank has only 2 aquaclear 500's and it does a good job. But I also change the water weekly.

I have used Aquaclear 500s as well and they work well.
I replaced what they come with Bia media instead of sponge and charcoal

Go with the aqua clears.... best HOB on the market in its price range, with the largest media capacity.
