lots of amazing rays at that farm.

they usually sell to europe and japan. the 4 p14 pups in the pic above sold for $14k to japan.

it was nice to talk to the experts and see a breeding facility that was not as high tech in terms of equipment compared to mike at H20 but is equally as productive. the guys in thailand use a pretty simple setup. just a box with water, a pump, jap mat, crush coral and filter floss.

The long awaited arrival of some exotic fish from Thailand is almost over. :) Snakeheads, NTT, SRT, RT, FH, hybrid black rays...and other interesting fish will be landing soon. I don't know how many people in the Vancouver area are getting fish out of this shipment, but I think it must be a lot. The order ended up taking on a life of its own and has brought together people with the common cause of getting hard to find fish at really great prices.

I'll do my best to snap a few photos at the arrival, maybe do some post arrival shots of the more unusual fish in people's tanks (thinking of the larger SRT's in particular).

Depending on how this order goes, it could serve as a template for other forum members in future who want to arrange a bit of home based importing while visiting Thailand.

Good luck everyone and thanks to Perry for throwing a Red Dragon FH my way (the only fish that is for me in the order). :)

Heh Mike, Derek, and Perry - here are a few photos I snapped last night during the arrival of your fish. Glad I could assist as an advisor, felt weird to be a spectator with no direct stake in the order. :)

I trust this will be the beginning of something for you and others. It is the way of the future, not just for the market here in Canada, but globally.

Nile perch, some snakeheads, parrots, and a few of your rays are in the photos. Too bad it was raining and cold or I could have gotten better shots. I'll have to do some follow up shots on the SRT, RT, FH etc. later.
