RTG Died Yesterday

I found my 12" RTG floating head down in the tank yesterday, dead. I could find no marks on her at all. Maybe she got spooked, hit her head and knocked herself out and drowned. This really sucks, she was my first aro and I will miss her. It's not just the money (losing a $1000 fish), I had grown quite attached to her. It will be a while before I buy another aro, hopefully my dynamic red and green aro do not meet the same fate.:(

Yes, just glass lids on top of a painted metal frame (plywood tank with angle iron frame and 2 2" metal slats across the top). One of my peacock bass looked quite stressed the next day and had a bite out of his back fin. I now think that the aro may have nipped the more powerful pbass and took a hit. I think that I will not put another aro in the tank with these pbass, they are much too powerful (especially when they get full grown at 2').

And thanks everyone for your comments.
