    The Lost Tank

Wicked set -up. Like the background and choice of tankmates. I used to keep African cichlids before I got into aros and rays. Never thought of keeping them with an aro.

    NEW Acrylic tank build

I've always glued the sides to the back then flipped it over and glued the front. Never tried gluing on the vertical. It looks way less time consuming doing it your way. I still prefer to have the top cover the sides, front and back rather than fit inside but to each his own. Great video series BTW.

    New filter design

You won't be happy with the sponge solution to block the weir. It will work until you try to remove the sponge for cleaning then all of your K1 will be on your drip tray. I have the same problem. I have to insert an acrylic divider to block the K1 from going through when I clean the sponge. If I...

    New filter design

The K1 media fits through the holes in the egg crate I have. K1 is only about 1cm wide and 7mm thick. Smaller than the tip of your pinky finger. I thought it would be much larger, and honestly, I think a larger version would work better for sump applications. At such a small size it is...

    New filter design

I'm curious to see how this works out for you with the K1. I have some in one of my sumps. The problem I had was the K1 is so small and light that it needs a barrier so it doesn't flow over the weir. Perhaps a wall of bubbles in front of the weir would keep the K1 from flowing into the next...

At what age do arrows cross

By the time it reaches 18-20" it should be crossed. Full pearlies usually cross but not always. Mine has full pearlies but not fully crossed. Could be due to intense light and black tank right from the beginning. He has lots of 6th row gold color but no scales fully cross. You can get XB's that...

    Flower Ray update

Send her to my house and I'll breed her with my XB arowana. He keeps trying to breed my male BDL. Maybe he'll have better luck with a female closer to his color. LOL.

They are both coming along nicely but I prefer the diablo. Nice shots and thanks for posting the settings for us to try to emmulate at home.

What do you feed your rays?

NLS wafers and thera A. Earthworms to the pups. Occasionally a smelt if the dats miss one.

    HUGE LOSS.

Devastating! Sorry to hear. Wish you luck.

    Decaying scales!

Does it look like this? Depending on the severity, chipped scales takes months to heal. It took this guy at least 4 months to fully heal. Some of the pearlie scales never recovered. The issue is usually related to water quality. Any carbon or zeolite in the system? If so remove. Test...
