The F debate...
The F system is actually used differently in the hobby than it was designed to use...
Here is an example:
In fish hobby, the number behind F stand for the furtherest generation away from the wild caught (WC) parent.
WC + WC = F1 - 1 generation away from the WC parents

I fish a lot... I used to give smelts, cods, sole, flounder, salmon, crab, prawn, etc... all fresh except the prawn... And I cut them up into feeding size and pack them so each feeding, all I need to do is pick up a pre-potioned cube...
I was lucky enough to purchase a 15" show quality super red scarlet. The fish came in with clipped dorsal and tail. As you can see, the dorsal was clipped. The fish next to the scarlet is actually a 5-6" L147 peckoltia. You can see how massive this scarlet is.

L30 - although picture does not show, it has nice green spot on it.
L31 peppermint - small tiny white spot all over the body.
L177 queen nugget - nice orange color...

Royal requires more of a veggie / wood diet. Scarlet and spinney requires more of a higher protein diet. The food will be the same as your arow..
If you don't mind throwing in the veggie wafers for just the royal, it will be fine.
