great idea , glad it worked for you did the mix have any fibre-glass in it ?? reason i ask is , i am a concrete formworker (carpenter) , and anytime we have small pads like this , we always make sure to get a mix with fibre-glass in it , to prevent cracking .

they are fine so far , but frt can be very nippy when it gets a little hungry ..so plecos just hide under stump where it is safe ..;)

i do like this method as well , but as far as cosmetic looking not so much , since my 210 is the center piece of the loving room .. definitely better than the rocks i am using now tho ..lol :cool:

i was just curious what all the aro keepers use to weigh down the glass tops , in order to prevent the unthinkable ?? right now i am using 2 heavy rocks that cover all 3 of the lids ? i am looking for ideas as the rocks are not very appealing to look at !!:rolleyes: thanks

ya of course , i wasnt trying to do less wcs , just keep tons of filtration .. ;)

just added a new fx5 today , with 2 baskets of bio-max and 1 basket filled with seachem purigen !! so filtration is up to 1 eheim 2280 stuffed with bio balls , 2 fx5s ... i think its a great improvement until im ready for a sump !@!

haha for somebody all over these forums , u sure missed it lol :rolleyes: i sold off the 3 smaller 8 inchers and rehomed the 5 jumbos in my buddys 108gal , frt has become very nippy and i needed to reduce bio as well !@! :cool:
