My new stingrays form IPU :) about 8" and very very skinny. I've had him on earth worms now until he gets really fat and I've been feeding him pellets that he doesn't know are on the worms as well.

when the pump died did it spew anything into the tank? like prop parts? I've always wondered if a pump breaks does it have the potential to kill fish.

Are you going to put some lounge chairs in the room? I really like this build and will likely be following your video to build my own one day. Can't you buy a door with no door handle drilled in? then drill the hole where you want it to be?

I run a drip system for my ray tank and well as 2 4"x16" filter socks (washed weekly) and enough K1 media in a fluidized bed filter to filter 4x the amount i really need because rays are messy and eat alot lol

So did you ever end up installing the drip system? and if so how much drip did you need on a 600g tank? maybe 4-8 gallons per minute?

+1 for the moving bed filter :) such easy maintenance and very effective +1 for heating the room instead of the aquarium because 5000g of water will likely heat the room anyways.

How has this worked so far? I've thought of doing the same thing except running my drip system tubing around my hot water tank and then to the aquarium so there is no pump.

I bought a tigershark algae remover from ebay it works great and comes with acrylic pads :) its extremely strong as well ( too strong actually i had to put a sock on the outside for better movement)

Do you get alot of noise having your sump area open like that?
