ya i got the dirty filter floss from a buddy's clean cycled tank already n i put it in my filter last week... thanks for the advice everyone.. ill keep you guys posted.

im thinking that is my problem...tank not fully cycled. i am going to test the water asap. also i had a bacterial bloom a week ago...i thought it was caused from an ammonia spike, but i was reading an article and it says bacterial blooms ARE the cause of ammonia spikes not the other way...

thanks for all the advice.... should i continue to do more partial water changes every other day or should i just leave it at 20-25% a week?

mines an asian arowana...he sits at the bottom sometimes for hours without swimming... cant be good....

ya chen88 mines not very quick either...good thing right now he doesn't have any tank mates to compete for food. he kinda just watches it for a few minutes, swims by as if hes shy...but eventually he'll eat it. im guessing once they start to feel more comfortable they'll get their hunting...

my tank is normally around 82F as well...he has no tankmates at the moment.

i have two airstones already. i just hope hes ok, i know he suffered from a lot of stress when i was bringing him home the first day, and its been a week and he still hasnt eaten. i know they can go for weeks without eating, but hopefully he wont starve himself... any advice on how i can...

i just noticed while my arowana was swimming its mouth kept opening and closing...almost as if hes gasping for air... is this a sign of any possible sickness?
