How to get pups to eat.

I agree with everyone that live black worms are the best for young pups. I feed each with a turkey baster to make sure each one gets his share. I store the live worms in the fridge in a bowl of water that I clean every few days by pouring off the dirty water and replacing with new (without...

    4 Feet Nan Light .........

I tried on top but not enough light was passing through the glass for my liking. I next placed it inside the tank on the front 1" down from the top, works much better and is in fact water proof (at least so far). I guess I'll leave it there, the suction cups are holding on.

    Power Outtage Accicent.

I never thought of using hydrogen peroxide for O2 during outages, that's a good idea. I have some in my medicine cabinet already. I have airpod battery backups for the airstones but not for the filters. I have been thinking for quite some time now of buying a Honda electric generator for...

    Tanning lights

My xb is in a 165g planted tank with 220 w of pc lights that are around 6500K for plant growth. He has turned quite dark except for the gold frames, showing that he is getting tanned. The lights are on 12 h a day. I have just bought a nan light for my dynamic red that I plan on using for 3-4...

    my fly river turtle !@!

Very cute! I have a chinese softshell turtle of almost the same size with my green aro and silver dollars. He eats mostly shrimp, I never tried fruit and veggies. I bought mine for $50 when he was about 1" across, he's now about 5" across.

    4 Feet Nan Light .........

I just got my nan light today and it works great for bringing out the red colors. I guess I'll have to test it for a while to see if it makes a difference in tanning the aro. In the past I was just leaving the blinds open once a week and chancing algae. The lights are better. Thanks Eric.

    Timur Red Arowana ................

$800 for a red aro? That sounds pretty cheap to me, I paid 3x that for my dynamic red. Good deal.

    Old dogs new tricks....lesson learned

I had problems with my sump overflowing a while back after working fine for three years. I shut down the sump and run two xp3 cannisters and an Ultima 1000 pond filter. No more problems. I am sure you already thought of this but do you have any other aquariums going? You can try getting...

    My red and gold aro

Yup, there's actually two of them along with a couple of angel fish. They seem to be getting along well now but one of these days ... The tank seems to be doing well with only a 30g sump with pot scrubbers and a bunch of plants. Sometimes simple works too.
