A nice supply of fish from Asia here, including Asian arowana of course. The owner and I recognized each other as we had met years earlier when he was working alongside Dave Guan at Concept Aquariums. It is a small world after all :) This store reminds me of the smaller local neighbourhood...

To my knowledge this is the biggest aquarium and pet store in all of Western Canada. I have not seen a bigger store anywhere. In Calgary this is the place to get everything pet related. When I arrived I saw a young family posing for photographs in front of the store. This made me realize that...

Lichens, flowers, lake, and dead fish (Walleye).

The hills overlooking the Echo Lake section of the Qu'Appelle Valley are beautiful.

The provincial fish hatchery (for species of trout, walleye, etc.) was worth a visit.

Ok, not totally fish related, but as I was driving around Saskatchewan to visit any aquarium stores I could find (not a lot), I took some nice photos. I thought I'd share them here. You will note a bit of forest fire haze in the first number of photos; it dissipated over the several days I was...

Of course I've uploaded a few extra photos of the larger Panda Gold they have on display. This fish was imported about 3 years ago and so is just approaching maturity.

Note the "house brands" of fish food. A good idea for stores elsewhere in Canada to consider.
