whats a good tank size for an asian aro?

Bro, Width 2ft is enough to house an Asian aro be it a Red or Gold. What is more impt is the length and not the width in order to really enjoy the aro. :) Aro in tank environment generally do not grow that big, probably around 24inches +/- , unless its a pond. Also, feeding to that...

    Sharing my Asian Aros

Hi Buddy, The light usage of salt is to calm the Aro down, or rather, helps in stabilizing them. If heavy dosage, it is for treatment. :) Hope it helps. :)

    Return to Arowanas ... ?

A rectangular shape tank is preferred. Min size tank is a 48"x24"x24" tank. Death of Aro can be caused by many factors. Too many or too few water changes do no good for the Aro. :) Similarly for large volume water change. For feeding, try not to feed it till 100% full. Estimated 70% to 80%...

My mid sized Red from Aro Kingdom

Nope. Using sponge filter system is good for few livestocks in tank with low to mid bioload. Do not feed too much, moderately will do. Wash the sponge filter every 3 to 5 days and WC once in a week or 2 is suffice.

    Foam under tank

For bigger tanks, it is alway good to have foam at the base. :) It helps to prevent cracking of the tank at the base due to uneven surface and also, it helps to spread out the pressure exerted by the tank evenly.

Painting the back of my Tank Black

Bro, Just a suggestion, use oyama sticker paper is more preferred. Paint might peel off. For the base, please consider the color option carefully as changing of base color will be a tedious job unlike back or sides of tanks. :)
