Taken from a FB post by Victor E. is a way to cheaply and quickly polish and filter aquarium water:
"For quick fix cut the bottom off a 2L pop bottle put a charcoal pouch in and then lots of filter floss … attach a good power head 600 G / hour to the top of the bottle, I use Marineland MaxiFlows because they fit snuggly. In 24 hrs your water should be pretty much crystal clear - remove this DIY water polishing unit."
