For those who likes to feed superworms .......

Have you guys ever experienced that your aro used to love eating superworm but later on only chew it then spill it out???

I chat with some aro hobbyists. One of the reasons is (maybe) because the sore throat inside the aro got injuried. The superworm head would be relatively hard and the aro feels comfortable to eat.

2 solutions.

- Cut the superworm head before feeding the aro.
- Freeze the superworm so that the superworm head would not move around when the aro is swallowing it.

never herd of this before

if you feed a aro every day it will go off its food at some point in its life no matter what food you feed

aro always fast

who would cut off the heads in the wild :D

Yes...

The last few months my Chilli still eats superworms, but a lot less. He eats the first 2, but spits out the rest. Imma give the head cutting a try.

happened to my old rtg all the time, i just decided she was picky.

pick a food.. aro eat that food only for 1-2 month then stop.. even superworm! so always had to find what aro was willing to eat that month..
starved for months trying to break its will, but seemed common to go 3-6 months without eatting every year.

Since aro. seldom takes veggie-based food as part of the diet, someone told me that it is possible to feed veggie-based pellet to the superworm and then feeding the superworm to aro. That way, aro can absorb nutrition from veggie-based food.

Have you guys heard of it?

This is usually happened in superworm case rather than mealworm case because the mealworm's head size is much smaller than superworm's head.

super worms are the bst food IMO

i feed my super worms apple carrot and cucumber

yep i feed everything to my meal worms

carrot cucumber apple spiralina flake pellets

i find the worms die faster if you just feed pellets

the worms need some moister so lots of apple carrot and pellets the night before i feed the worms to the aros

I use potato slices for moisture for my worms. I tried apple slices but the worms seemed to develop a fungus. Maybe the apple I used had too much moisture? I have had no problem with spuds. I feed pellets and Kellogs corn flakes (lots of vitamins) to my worms. You can hear the worms crunching the corn flakes! I think I'll try some veggies as well, good idea.
