well just seen my BD pair trying to do the deed, bite marks on her disk and back and they were belly to belly and chasing each other around but i dont think the male is mature enough yet but could be close! any one else experience this activity with an immature male? or do rays only trying doing "it" once their mature???
 
It's very common for the male to try. IMO, it's much more about the female being ready. I watched my older male try unsuccessfully for about 6 months before the female took. It is as they say... "practice makes perfect" :)
