Hey guys I have been keeping fish for a while now currently have a 90g with a 30g 3 chamber sump with a 200 ppm sock for mechanical filtering, 5kg's of lava rock for bacteria filtering, third chamber is for return pump. The inhabitants of this tank are a 16" Asian trout, 2 12" koi and a pretty large gold fish. This system has been running since they were all about 2" have had them for some time now. Really love the sump setup. Keeps my water very nice and clear with minimal maintenance. The Pics I just snapped so while waiting for your opinions I am going to be cleaning
I made a deal with a buddy at work who needed to get a FX5 and I found him one used that in turn got me a 6 foot 135g tank for $100. So im pretty excited to get creative and drill and sump this tank. I have scene a few of your guys sump set ups and they look crazy complex compared to my 90 set up. As i am moving into a new house at the end of the month it will be a winter time project.
What do you guys think if i "copy" my 90 sump set up when i do my 135 drill and build? I was thinking a 40g tank for a sump??? I like the vertical box because it draws up the heavy material from the bottom of the tank and also skims the surface of the water...
