This little gem of a store is tucked away in a semi-residential corner of Edmonton. It is well worth seeking out for the nice ambience, friendly owners, and well cared for livestock.
The anecdote I'll share here concerns the care they show for their betta fish at this store. Keeping bettas can be controversial, as many people immediately think of them being in little cramped jam jars. That is not the case here. As one of the store owners pointed out, they have taken great care to design smaller rectangular aquariums, each with a bit of decor and its own filtration. And this philosophy extends from the store to the customers, who are encouraged to house bettas the same way. This approach, and the care I saw for the other fish in the shop, show me that the owners care about the fish and animals in their care. The shop is super neat and tidy, well stocked, and overall has a great vibe. I recommend this shop.
