invest 20 bucks for a water test kit and check what your water parameters are....ammonia should be at 0 so it sounds like your tank is not fully cycled....

turn up the water temp and add salt...will grow back n heal in no time....good water quality helps too....and cover your tank better!!!!

are you doing this in your parents house??...what if you decide to finally move out of the house?....lol...

koi are cold water fish.........also i'd stay away from feeder goldfish.....not a good food source....

treating a bigger tank is tougher....but crank the heat and lots of salt as suggested....are you using a quarantine tank before you intro new fish into the 300??...

get the biggest tank you can afford...a 180 is ideal but you can get away with a 135...just partition the tank when its smaller so that you dont have to deal with transporting the fish as it grows...

any chinese or asian supermarket...white shrimp...frozen....can sell for 1.99 to 5.99 for a box....cheapest MP..
