Its been like that for a while now. Contact admin and see if they will activate you. The site is still very active and has some very interesting threads with information I haven't seen elsewhere.
Try sending an email to user Don. He is one of the owners of the site and has an account here (though he rarely accesses it - thus using email might make more sense than a pm).
