BD's

Hello all,

I'm new to this forum and will therefore also briefly introduce myself. My name is Rainer and I live in Germany. My aquarium has 3300 liters and for a week, I am the proud owner of three BD's. It is a trio (1.2). The animals are about a year old and from a breeder in the Netherlands.

Welcome Rainer, thanks for sharing the photos. In the past, on this site we have arranged imports from Frank and Nico at freshwaterstingrays.nl as well as from Lode and Mark and potamotrygon.nl. The Dutch are well known for their quality rays. Nowadays some of us also import rays from SEAsia, specifically from breeders in Thailand and Indonesia. And of course we have another German on this forum (well, actually a German-Canadian ), Oliver Lucanus at belowwater.com, who supplies us with world class wild caught rays.

What is the state of ray keeping in Germany these days? Do you think the hobby is growing, stable, or decreasing? In Canada I think the hobby is stable at the moment, not really growing or shrinking.

Do you have any other photos or video to share of the fish you keep?

thanks for the nice welcome.

I think the Rays attitude in Germany is stable, or rather increasing. Here in Germany there are a lot of crazies who have very large plants. There are also beautiful animals with us.

In my aquarium, swimming alongside the three BD's, also three young P14. In addition, 15 pieces Chalceus erythrurus, 4 pieces lowfin L200 and L25. I will add pictures every now and then.
