Best titanium heater for a 300?

Im looking at buying 2 500w heaters for my 300, Ive used the 300w via aqua with built in controller for years with zero problems but they dont have a 500w and 4 of those would seem almost silly for a 300 gallon. so im digging through ebay and now they have external controlers for the finnex but it will only control 1 heater so twice the cash for the same function and it wont keep the setting in a power failure like the manual dials will.
I want to use one in the tank and one in the sump more for backup and lessen the workload when i get the drip system nailed down.
What would you guys suggest?

I think you should look for a 1000w heater and just put it in the sump.
I have one in my sump and seems to be running fine the last 3 years.
Also it will be in a place where it wont cause injuries or burn on your fishes

Put inside sump. Should good to go. I'd get 2 500 just incase one goes on you, there's at least a back up.

I've never had to use my new heaters as my external pump for my sump heats the water by itself to 85.
