Long story short, I just got this tank a few days ago from Tenecor to discover a chip on the bottom left corner of the tank. The chip goes half way into the 1/2 inch acrylic side panel. I physically went inside the tank and it is sealed inside the tank. Just half as strong unless the chip is filled/fixed. Lately, Tenecor seems to be very bad with their customer service so my chances of getting this tank replaced seems rather slim. I have emailed a few acrylic fabricators/manufacturers and they said it is fixable. I even went to Industrial Plactics in Richmond to ask for their opinion and they said it is fixable. The tank cost, shipping, custom broker fees, HST and USD to CDN conversion cost me $2700 CDN for the tank alone.
If anyone is skilled enough to fix the small chip, they can save themselves some money and wait time for a new acrylic tank. The tank is otherwise VERY nice except for this chip.
I will probably do an order for another tank because I want one that is perfect/mint condition.
Tank Details:
- 315 Gallon CUSTOM
- 7 feet long, 3 feet wide, 2 feet high
- 1/2 inch acrylic all around
- 2 overflows 1.5 inch drain and 1 inch returns
- blue background, black bottom acrylic
- 1 feeding hole and 2 big openings on top
$1500
