how do I get my RTG to eat Food Sticks?

my RTG is 2.5 yrs old about 2 months ago and he eats only meal worms.
no shrimp, food sticks .. nothing else
maybe the previous owner my have only fed him worms but I will like to mix it up for him.
any ideas on how to train him to take other types of food?

Starve him and hopefully he breaks before you do. mature aros can go with out eating for a few months so they are harder to break and train than younger ones. Aros don't eat when they are brooding other than the few eggs that they swallow so not eating for long periods is part of their nature (when called for). I'm sure your aro won't kill himself by starvation.

when I got my aro, the RTG, he did not eat for two weeks ish and I was really concerned. now the pih eats 6 to 8 worms a day and nothing else!
