Thanks. He's pretty active when I'm in in the fishroom but its probably thinking its lunchtime. There's a malawi peacock in that tank and he's pretty bossy to everyone in there, including 2 ornates and 2 indo dats. He's always pushing everyone to the back of the tank.
The substrate is an aragonite that Kurt @ P--land had basically given to me. It's not proper substrate for bichirs or for plants but it's only temporary. So's the peacock...

Thanks. I got him from Oliver Lucas at http://belowwater.com/Home.html. I paid $150 plus shipping for him, so it wasn't cheap. I would be waiting forever for an lfs in Winnipeg to bring one in and I would have paid twice that.

Tim, I think it's intended to buffer a high ph. The shape may be good for rays but I'm pretty sure it's not the best.
