Stung!

I got a (hopefully) minor sting while clipping a large barb from an 8 inch BD that ships out in the morning. I got the barb out super fast, did not go deep. I sucked blood fast and for a while from my thumb, then ran under cold water, and repeated. After 5-10 minutes of that I used rubbing alcohol. Now feels kind of like a bee/wasp sting, bit of a burning/stinging feeling. Hopefully not too much swelling tonight.

I shipped the fish from Vancouver to Calgary. I've had many rays thrash around in bags during transit and end up puncturing the shipping bags. Luckily I've never lost a ray in shipping, but I don't like taking the chance. So, I always either clip the barbs of the rays when shipping or else add a piece of plastic tubing around the barbs. This is the same format used by the farms in Asia when they ship rays.

Holy moly. That’s crazy, one of the worst I read about to date.

don’t wish that on my worst enemy tbh.
