2) MerLion Emerald Gold Tail: This is commonly known as the "Yellow Tail" or Banjar Red" or "Red 2". Please note the pinkish base. This bloodline orginated from the wild river of Banjar Masin of Indonesia. Hence, the common name - Banjar Red

3) Merlion Emerald Red Tail: This is a crossbreed of Red arowana with the Banjar Red. This bloodline is not from the wild. It is commonly known as 1.5 Red. The young can be mistaken for pure Red arowana. They have nice shinning greenish blue base colour.

MerLion Emerald Red Tail - 1.25 Red: This is a crossbreed of 1.5 Red with Red arowana. They are commonly sold in the market as pure Red arowana. Please note the greenish blue base and the tail colour which is of dull red.. The scale rim is slightly reddish and the face and lip look exactly like a red arowana. If they are kept in the tank and with good lighting, one can hardly differentiate them from the pure Red arowana....especially, when they are young.
