If the aro is three times the size or more than the gulpers, it should be fine. I've kept gulpers with dats, SD's and plecos with absolutely no issues.

gulpers have been known to kill themselves trying to eat things 3 or 4 times there size....

Quite slow. Awesome, interesting and extremely hardy fish.

I agree with you. Maybe in the future, if I have a spare tank. Any other catfish species that could mix with asian aro's that won't out grow a 220?
