I've got one- They are not cheap though and the ones in Canada may not read the chips used in Asia.

    King red

The so called "King" arowanas are in reality runts that won't bag any prizes in a fish competition. Its value to the owner however, is subjective. Hobbyists in the far East have mixed reactions to the fish, even though they tend to hype it up and prize anything weird and wonderful. the 2 headed...

    2 golds

They could be a pair but then they are still teenagers, just have to wait and let nature take its course.

    2 golds

Here are the pics of my 2 golds living happily together in a 7' tank. One is slightly more dominant than the other but generally, no probs. Living proof than two aros can live happily, they were raised together though.

The Asian arowana market is very competitive

I am afraid big farms like Xian Leng will have to accept that breeding aros on a commercial and backyard scale is on the increase and prices are predicted to drop as we can see in Singapore. In fact I can forsee aros prices dropping to half its present prices before levelling out- More and more...

What do you make of this?

As far as I know, no one has captive bred aros in tanks outside of Asia except in Japan so this guy is pulling a fast one. Why would he want to sell if it is truly a breeding pair?

Spring 2009 Group Order from Panda

Interesting read Theo- seeing that you visited a lot of shops and farms, the best is yet to come. I think you should come out with a book similar to IndoDragon/Awakening, your write ups are far superior going by aquarticles but their pictorials have the edge:)

Its OK to use flash but not directly on the glass, overhead flash with a sync cord is better, otherwise you get a reflection from the glass just like shooting in a mirror

    New Banner - Prototype

The banner is not striking enough- The combination of the aro and the maple leaf is certainly a good idea, a bigger leaf with an aro within the outline in a lighter shade will be an improvement.

    Beware Asian arowana scams

Always a good idea to get it from the older and more established farms in Singapore- you cannot go wrong there. Also this fancy name calling is something one has to watch out for, a red is a red is a red. Dressing up aros with colourful names will fool inexperienced hobbyists.
