Go buy your fish in person?

Sounds like a vacation tour, like the ones to see the rain forest. That would be very cool, a tour of various asian countries, different fish farms, pet stores/markets and zoos and you get to buy an aro to take home. Where do I sign up?

    HUGE LOSS.

Thanks. I guess it is all a part of keeping fish, there is always a risk of loss. But I am not sorry in having had them, as I got a lot of enjoyment out of them.

    New powerhead option

I have had 2 Vortech ph for the last 6 (?) years and one of them failed about 2 months ago (worn out magnet). I have also used Koralia 4 ph for the last few years and find they work as well as the Vortech for a lot less money. They do put a little heat into the water and are a little larger...

    Chameleon's

Wow, 90 ball pythons! I think selling my house would also be a problem with all the fish tanks I have throughout the house. And half of my friends won't visit any more because I keep snakes.

    Ultima II Question

I've had my UltimaII 2000 and UltimaII 1000 going for about 3 years now. I have the intake and output tubes on the same side and have never had a problem. I don't have a check valve installed either, though it sounds like a good idea. I have had no problems at all with these filters and have...

    Chameleon's

I have three bearded dragons, a blue tongue skink, 2 normal ball pythons, a brazilian rainbow boa and an emerald tree boa. The bearded dragons are the most handleable, very tame. The skink is a little grumpy but he settles right down when you pick him up. The snakes are all quite tame as well...

    4 Feet Nan Light .........

So did mine. UPS tried to deliver it three times (according to them) and when I finally got it (not Eric's fault, UPS could have left it with someone for me and they decided not to) there was no damage at all. Very well packed and quickly shipped (just slowly delivered to me out in the...

    HUGE LOSS.

I am very sorry for your loss. I can relate to how you are feeling, with the flooding we had this summer I believe my local water treatment plant added something to my water supply. I lost 12 out of 13 of my motoro (3 adults of 2 mated pairs and 5 pups). My one lonely ray is holding on but I...

    Low Water Level

I have a 5" (across) Chinese soft shell turtle with a 12" green aro and 10" tiger oscar, I have encountered no problems. Maybe I'm just lucky.

    Crazy XB arowana

I had the opposite experience, I lost a 10" RTG to 4 similiar sized pbass. At least, I think it was them as I found him dead in the morning but without any marks. Perhaps he just panicked when the pbass were mouth wrestling. I won't be adding any aro's with my pbass either. Luckily, my xb is...

    Another cloudy eye thread

I agree, I also do more water changes. I do about 30% twice a week on all of my tanks. I have had cloudy eye before (or at least the fish have) when I missed or delayed water changes, increasing the schedule of wc worked every time.

Most Expensive Aquarium fish..... It belongs on this forum ;)

Personally, I like red or gold aros more than the platinum ones. The expensive fish just look washed out to me. And can you imagine the worries about it jumping or power outages? My bbxb just lost a scale and I was fuming, I'd totally freak out if it was a platinum one.

    Biggest Tank Comfortably Moved??

Is this the monster fish keepers forum? The tanks just keep getting bigger (and I get more and more jealous). Lucky guys! I have always hired a trucking company to transport and move my tanks. It's worth it to me to spend an extra $200 and not worry about dropping the tank on my foot.

Pups, pups, pups.... all shapes and sizes hahaha..

That's awesome! And 6" pups, holy smokes. The mother must be huge. The largest motoro pups I ever had were about 4" from a 14" female. But other species are probably larger. Very impressive! You must have excellent water over there.

fish tank size for a RTG

I also like the taller tank. You can always get some rays for the bottom to go along with the aro at top. A 12' tank, wow! That would be great!
