She's a little over 12" and still not showing much color. At least she's healthy.

I still haven't gotten a hold of a camera to take a pic of my new xb so I thought I'd at least post a more updated pic of my dynamic red. She is showing a tiny bit more red (orange really) on the edge of her scales but she is still paler than I would like. At least she is healthy and eating...

Those are some crazy colored aros, mine look so plain by comparison. I still love them just the same, but I wish they had half the color of those. Thanks for sharing.

Fortunately for me, my silver dollars are in another tank (130g) with my baby rays and green aro that only has sand as a substrate. I have a few plecos in my planted tank (common pleco and two bristle nose) along with a severum that sometimes take a bite out of my plants but nothing too serious.

Count me in!:D

It is also one of my favorites. And it is really nice to find people who don't say "you paid how much for that fish?!"

I have my new xb in a planted tank with some amazon swords and Cryptocoryne. She seems to be swimming peacefully as the plants are in the lower half of the tank. It also offers a place to hide for my angels and blue gourami if my aro decides to nip at them.

I'm tempted to order one for my school fish tank but my principal probably wouldn't like it. They look pretty cool.

I have two tinfoils with my red aro. They are pretty quick and only lose the occasional scale. My new 6" aro is with a couple of angels, 2 blue gourami, a small severum and few plecos. It is working well now, she is swimming calmly back and forth and eats shrimp like a champ but I don't know...

Nice ck. Why not grow him out? Mine is 24" long and is with my 2 motoro rays and 4 pbass. It is really cool how they can swim backwards.

I have my Merlion Premium xb from the Dream Fish farm in a planted tank. I hope she doesn't get any drop eye. Hopefully the dither fish will keep her attention more towards the middle of the tank. And I am feeding her market shrimp which is less fatty than superworms (which she gets as a treat).

I keep my xb in a planted tank with a black background. This may not be the best to get the most color from my xb but the tank looks very nice with the contrast of green plants, black background and shiny xb.

I picked up my new aro today :) and after a couple of hours she's peacefully cruising her new tank. Hopefully she adjusts well to her planted tank and new tank mates. I'll try to take some pictures when she's more settled in.

That is very sad. I am going to have to put some extra weight on my lids before it happens to me. Take a break from the aros and come back later. I know how depressing losing a prized fish can be. Just give it time.

Nice. Is your pbass with your aro? I lost my RTG a while back from a few boisterous pbass. They now only play with the rays and a large clown knife (24").

Perhaps you can fit an Ultima 1000 pond filter in somewhere? I use one on my 320g (and an Ultima 2000 on my 270g). I just run the intake pipe and return over the top of the tank, the pump is under the tank along with the filter. It is very quiet and rated for a 1000g pond so it should work...

I don't see any problem. I just cleaned my protein skimmer that is sitting in my sump for the saltwater tank. There are also phosban and carbon reactor filters in the same sump. If it works for saltwater it should work for freshwater as well.
