hey guys i have a 8'L x 30"H x 20"W acrylic tank.. is it possible to cut the rear panel and glue it to the top openings and make it a flatt down?

so to make it from 30"H x 20"w to 20"H x 30"W

doesnt need to be pretty as it will jsut be a grow out pond

not much you cant do with a router and acrylic.

Is the bottom panel as thick as the rest of the tank? Usually the bottom panel is thinner on acrylic tanks. If yours is, it would be an issue, as you would be turning yours on its side.
 
I think it's the same but I can double check.. So if it is you think it will work out Joey.? I mean 20" high isn't close to 30" of pressure right?
 
It will work no doubt. As long as that bottom panel isn't thinner.

All you have to do is get a good router.
 
The router can be used to cut the bottom and top off, and prepare the edges. It the only tool you should need.

Then you'll need some weld-on to weld the tank back together the way you want it.
 
Thats good news then. Now all you need to do it get a good router, and a double flute, carbide tipped bit for it. 1/4" works well for both cutting and preparing edges.

Take your time.
