This reply might be a little late, but better late than never.
Check out the titanium heater/controller combo offered by Jehmco. They come with a Ranco controller, which many people swear by. I run 1500 watts (1000 + 500) for 3 years with no problems. Friends of mine have used the Finnex, Won Brothers, Jalli and the controllers all seem to fail quick.

Another option is to get a Reef Keeper Lite controller for around $100. This will give you control for lights, etc... and more options for add ons down the road.
