Here's an experience worth sharing when it comes to gold intensity (and maybe core color). about a year ago, I have to put my RTG's in a big sump made of black pond liner. They were there for about 5 months. I didn't give them any lighting, only about 1 hr a day during feeding time (which was even cut down to 3 times a week) When I took them out of there I was expecting a more intense gold and more pronounced blue base, but they were actually pale!. Even now if I turn off the light longer I notice that they become paler and with more light their gold intensity is better. and ofcourse their top also gets a lot darker with more light but I don't really mind that, their RTG's.

Aro is looking good! Looks like hes moving too much to take good pics. I find it hard to take nice pics. Aros are always pretty hyper. Lol

For my rtg, i hardly leave the lights on in my tank. Maybe 2 hours a day max ever since i got the aro. Im also wondering if you leave the lights on for a longer period of time, will the gold intensity get better? Or same thing as ppl tanning, will the colour just get darker and affect the true gold shine? Hmm
