Can someone please tell me what THIS is doing OUTSIDE of My Arowana????

I was cleaning my tank and found this at the bottom, i dont have a scanner but i know which one its from... so any one have an idea what the heck its doing here and not where it's supposed to be???

Im guessing, it made its way into the stomach somehow and then was passed? Or perhaps it wasnt deep enough into the tissue?

How old are the arowana in the tank? Size?

the tag date is March 2010 so... i have no idea its in a 180 and is about 10" long

I am trying to remember who on this forum has had the chips come out of their fish before. I think it was Kenta and King_El? And someone else?

I have seen the chips inserted before; they can do a belly insert down low, or a shoulder insert up top. I have a video of the procedure somewhere from my visit to the farms down in Indonesia.

These PIT tags are usually placed to the left or right of the back, above the pectoral fin. My guess is it wasn't placed deep enough. Did the fish sustain an injury in this area that caused it to drop a scale?

Yeah sometimes their bodys push the chip out... If there is not sign of injury then theres probably nothing to worry about
