Chilli Red video

Here's a short clip of my qian hu chilli. He's in a tank that has a white bottom (styrofoam). Hard to tell with the reflection off the black background. ;) He's a little washed out. I'm planning on installing black granite tiles this week though. :)

Critically speaking, I'm a little disappointed in his colour so far. He developed some plj somewhere between 9-10". Until I added the ray to his tank, he was such a picky eater and would do 2-3 week hunger strikes. Cert date is Dec/2008.

But don't get me wrong. I love him. He's got good body shape and shold be pretty thick when full grown. I'm looking forward to watching him develop over the next couple of years.

Your right he has very good shape and swimming posture. For a year from tag date his development looks good. As for an eating problem, looks like it eats good to me:D. Black tiles will help darken the color, granite or marble would look really nice. What kind of lighting do you use?

Thanks for sharing,:)

that's a nice ray, and awesome dragon, but most of all....that's some serious HD camera. wish i had one lol. oh wait, what's the camera name? :D

Thanks, guys!

The camera I use for shooting HD is a little tiny point n' shoot Canon SD780is. Not a particularly good camera for taking pics indoors, but the HD is pretty good for a 250 dollar camera. :)

the body shape is nice.. colour is fine for a red. supermeal worms will make the red ... brigher? maybe?

Thanks!

His diet is 50% sw and 50% market shrimp. He's picky enough that if I try to gut load the worms with pellets, he won't eat the worms.

Once the black tiles have been installed and it's been a couple of weeks, I'll shoot another video. I think the black tank floor will make a difference.

I'd also like to tan him but I'm having problems getting tanning lights into Winnipeg. I'm still working on that.
