That is exactly what I mean by a "classic rtg." I don't see even a fleck of gold on the 5th level?

Not even a fleck. Just a very solid 4th level. Wish I still had that fish. It was a perfect example of a 'classic' RTG which is getting harder and harder to find

Yeah, it is impossible to get those in Singapore I think (unless they have been imported from Indonesia?). I have seen these sometimes go by the name "Mahato" rtg, not sure what that means. I am pretty sure Maju's RTG's will mostly develop that way, but who knows? In this group of rtg's brought in last year I notice a fleck of gold/shine on the 5th level of one fish:

Though others look to be totally clear of any gold/shine on the 5th:

Of course they are all beautiful fish. :) I just find it funny how the name "RTG" just don't mean what it used to be! :)

a lot can change as the fish gets older

this is my old RTG classic at 22inch and 3 years old

the fish is now 8 years old and has only i fleck of gold on the next level

How old exactly would a RTG Stop Growing its Cold color out? Like would a 2 year old RTG show all its potential and won't grow any more color on scales? Or some time sooner? like 1.5 years?
