so im thinking about setting up a small side project when im not working.
i was thinking about doing a aquarium maintenance business thing.
now i know ppl like all of us wouldnt use this because, well we're us!

but what im asking from you all is some advice...
right now i'd only be doing fresh water, and these are what services id be offering:
residential/commercial
set up/tear down
complete over haul
moving/relocation
weekly and/or monthly maintenance
cleaning, vacuuming, filter cleaning, water change, water treatment

redesign, aquascaping, species specific design

fish rehomeing

i was thinking something like $15/hr

can anyone think of anything else? or have any advice or info?
thanks!

you will need some references, your personal history in the hobby and photos...lots of them so that you can bring them to potential clients for them to see what you've done in the past.

I'd suggest that you charge around $30 dollars an hour for businesses. You will incur expenses, and you don't want to be doing this for free either.

A friend of mine does tank maintenance in a senior's home. If I'm not mistaken its a 55 gallon. He goes in every two weeks and charge $50 for his time. The home pays for all suplies and it takes him about 75-90 minutes to get the job done.
