Last night after work I opened the lid on my tank to feed my aro and rays. My red aro jumped out bounced a couple times on the lid and then fell about 4' or so behind my tank between the stand and the wall. It landed on an old piece of trim that I removed from the stand which had nails sticking out about 10" apart. 1 inch either way and the fish would have been impaled on a nail. After a few very stressful minutes I was able to return the fish to the tank with only 6 scales missing and no other obvious damage. It proceeded to eat less than an hour after being re-introduced into the tank and today is swimming like nothing even happened . I can't believe how tough/lucky these fish really are!
