Dither for 6" aro?

What's a good non-threatening dither for a 6" aro?

I have some lemon tetras and a few threadfin rainbows I could throw in with him. He seems a little shy in the 6 foot tank he's currently in.

Any ideas appreciated.

clown loaches. tinfoil barbs. flagtail prochis.

Thanks for the ideas! I do plan on some flagtails, but I have to find the right deal in this town. They typically don't acclimate so well after shipping, and I'm not paying 40 bucks for a 3 incher, lol.

congos are good but a 6 inch aro would probably destroy them. keep an eye out! congos are pricey too! if you want a good clean up fish, tinfoils are cheap and they clean up pretty good!

Picked up 3 congos and 4 tinfoils. Half price night at Petland, which means regular price I'd find at other lfs'. ;)

I'll keep an eye on the congos. If the aro starts to bang on them, I'll pull them out. :)

nice! tinfoils are good. they eat everything and can usually hold their own against an aro. only problem i find is that if i keep a big shool of them, they sometimes eat all the pellets before the aro does lol.

I have two tinfoils with my red aro. They are pretty quick and only lose the occasional scale. My new 6" aro is with a couple of angels, 2 blue gourami, a small severum and few plecos. It is working well now, she is swimming calmly back and forth and eats shrimp like a champ but I don't know how long this will last. I will have to remove these dithers eventually before they get eaten.
