hey guys,
i am in the works of building a U shaped 1300 gallon tank, dimensions are 14ft by 9ft by 9ft (32"wide and 30"tall). It will house 6 SR and 9 BBXB. So far just the stands are bolted together but i will post up some more pictures as more work is finished. I'm super excited and would like to share this process with you guys until the finished product.

Wow... Speachless to say the least! Can't wait to see more pics.
Guess you had a hellova time getting the thing levelled?

This really depresses me. I had plans for a 1000 gallon build, but its being put on the back burner.

Probably acrylic no? Would be more structurally sound with acrylic compared to glass. Not that there's a problem with glass if it's all perfectly level.

hey guys,
thanks for all your inputs, the tank is going to be built with glass, and there will be 2 sumps running. I am not going to be working on the tank until next week so hopefully there will be a few more pictures next week.

I wished I had the space to be putting a tank that size....always good to be able to max out a tank to the house...

good luck and hope that you have a great learning experience building your dream!

hey guys,

hey chen,

your right it's a huge learning experience, there's so much i still havent decided on yet. by the way how did those titanium heaters work out for you? how many do you think i should run for this tank?

Also has anybody heard of Hydronic Heating Coil for Sumps? using natural gas instead of electricity from a boiler? I heard it is very beneficial but i have never seen this type of set-up b4

didn't see this post....My titanium heaters hasn't been turned on yet! LOL...I got the blueline titanium with a ranco controller. My two inline reeflo snapper 18 pumps are heating up my water to 83-88 (88 when both pumps are running) so I have not turned on my heater!...

That is very cool and I do see why you want to do it, but why wouldn't you want to finish the basement walls and ceiling first?
