Hey guys where in the Toronto area can I get to look at some arowanas. I have been a long time fish keeper and am thinking of pulling the trigger on a nice asian arowana. I was at a guys house in oakville a couple of years ago looking at his shipment. I really liked the Gold's. Any info would be awsome!

Thanks

kennedy and steeles area....you have 3-4 LFS that usually stock aros....Lucky`s inside Market Village.....across the street is AcquaPets.....and next plaza over you have two other stores that will have aros too....Gold Garden and i forget the name of the place just a few stores down.....both have impressive show tanks with big reds in them....

Out of the stores peacockbass mentioned, I'd recommend Gold Garden if you want to check out aros.

It's right on Steeles next to the Tim Hortan's and Wendy's off Midland.

Or Dragon Aquarium in Mississauga. I really don't like dealing with Dragon King...they are not the cheapest around and if you don't speak the language they do try and rip you off! I know as I've been there and the understand the language just not good at speaking it....and I was being had....but luckily I understood what they were getting at....I'd recommend Lucky and or Dragon Aquarium..

i was at golden garden today , seen some nice xbacks and 24k, didnt really seem faded to me...

Or you could always try Dragonfish Canada :)

I've got a couple Super Red's and RTG's landing in Toronto at the end of July. Guaranteed better pricing than any of the LFS mentioned above. Shoot me a PM if you're interested. If you're just out to browse, though, I do prefer Lucky's over the others.

There is a 12" blue base xback, it is outstanding quality
for the price of $1800. There few lfs near by, there is no
harm to visit them, and see it yourself.

I have never seen a really nice aros at dragon in Mississauga.

Lucky's is really expensive unless you get their low grade aros.

Gold Garden has very reasonable prices for all their aros.

I would agree that GG does have a good selection and price point better then the ones around them in Markham.

The Group buys on here are probably your best bet if you are looking for price without seeing the actual fish...

I'm moving towards a model out here in Ontario, Chen, that caters to the traditional group buy model AND allows me to keep some aro's on hand for viewing before purchase. It's a good option for those in the market for a single fish.

Agreed with Dee above. Quality wise, there isn't much in Missisauga in the way of aro's.

Yeah I think DA's having a hard time competing with the others in Markham. Keep in mind their aros come from similar sources that some of the guys in Markham get....I personally prefer private buys since you can get bigger aros for less...

I frequently go to dragon aquarium, and right now they have a really nice bullet head chilli red arowana about 10-12 inches, not sure about the farm. Also a 12-14 inch cross back gold with spoon head, also a very nice arowana in my opinion. Not sure on price, somewhere around $1400 If I remember correctly..

yes, that chili red looks great! I frequent Dragon Aquarium to see how it is developing. It is developing really well. I really like that fish!
