    I add from tap and treat in my sump, then pump up to main tank. Safe way of doing it.

    I just have two 30 watt plant bulbs over my sump. Seems to be enough light because I trim back the plants every couple weekes or so.

    For the prawns to help with color developement, the shell has to remain on. Thats where the caratine comes from, which helps your fish turn red.

    Bioballs can be an asset to your cycle. But if over used they are big nitrate factorys.

    remeber to have the lights on your sump run on oposite cycles then your tank. IE: have the sump lights come on at night.

    I use plants in my sump after much testing I perfer plants that float. Easier to keep sump clean that way.

    I am currently working on a big filtration unit for arotanks. I'll will be using commercial filters and external pump. The cost wont be too high, plus it is easy to clean. I am installing one on my aro tank this weekend if all goes well and i'll keep you updated with pics and details.

    swim bladder... but I think usually with swim bladder problems the fish tilts front to back, not side to side?
